The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) on June 08 , 2015 , at its Land of Canaan Manufacturing Complex, renewed the permit of Plastic Products Limited (PP L) to use the National Standards Mark on its Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) pipes . The permit was granted to the company after pipes it manufactures continued to meet the requisite testing and quality requirements of the two National S tandard s : GYS 107, ‘Specification for pressure – rated PVC pipes ( SDR series ) and GYS 99, ‘ Specification for P VC pipes Schedule s 40, 80 and 120 ’, under the GNBS Product Certification Scheme. The renewal certificate , which is valid for one year , was presented by Mr. Al Fraser, T echnical Officer II on behalf of the Executive Director of the GNBS to PPL’s Production Manager, M r . Bharrath Rampersad i n the presence of his support staff. The GNBS is proud of it s efforts and the commitment demonstrated by compa nies like Plast ic Products Limited to have their products certified to the requirements of National Standards. Other products certified to National Standards are PVC pipes manufactured by Guyana Thermoplastic s Limited, and gold jewellery manufactured by King’s Jewellery World and Steve’s Jewellery.
