The Guyana National Bureau of Standards is reminding Vendors and Shopkeepers to use only approved scales for trade. The types of scales recommended for trade include: the red equal arm scales, electronic scales, heavy duty dial scales and platform scales. These scales must be in metric units and be verified by the GNBS twice yearly.
Inspectors of the GNBS will seize and remove all domestic dial scales and other unstamped weighing and measuring devices during surveillance exercises.
Please note that the deadline for stamping of all weighing and measuring devices for the second half of this year is Friday, September 28.
