The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) participated in the Georgetown Industrial Training Centre (GITC) Open Day/Career Fair, which was held on Thursday, May 10, 2018. At the event, Officers utilized posters, brochures, factsheets and suitable props to share information to those who visited the booth.
By participating in this event, visitors of the booth were made aware of the GNBS as the National Standards Body and National Metrology Institute. Information relating to the key services of the GNBS such as verification, calibration, training and testing was provided to teachers and students of technical institutions. In addition, the opportunity was used by Officers to promote the GNBS as the best option/place for students to start their careers. This was done by highlighting the job positions, academic requirements, salaries, benefits and training programmes to them. Meanwhile, comments and feedback received from visitors were noted.

The Administrator of Guyana Industrial Training Centre Mr. Dexter Cornette expressed gratitude to the GNBS for participating in the event and he asked that the GNBS provide him with pictures of its key services for display at the technical institutions.
