The GNBS today January 09, 2019 launched a consultancy under the ongoing National Quality Infrastructure (NQI) Project to develop a National Quality Policy (NQP). This policy is set to formalize interactions amongst stakeholders across the various sectors of the local economy with the objective of strengthening the NQI to ensure the easy trade of quality goods and services on the local and overseas markets. Stakeholders including government ministries and agencies, business groups, manufacturers and service providers are encouraged to support and contribute to the development of the NQP. The GNBS is expected to play a major role in the implementation of the Policy, which would ultimately see, consumers being the main beneficiaries. The consultancy was awarded to ARCA Consortium South America and the policy is expected to be completed before the end of first quarter of 2019.
