Inspectors of the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) are tasked with monitoring the quality and labelling of twenty (20) categories of commodities which are imported or manufactured locally to ensure compliance with the respective National Standards and other quality requirements.
Inspectors of the GNBS monitor the following commodities under the GNBS Standards Compliance Programme to ensure that consumers are protected:-

Note: Additional products could be included to the existing list of commodities monitored by the Bureau based on the availability of National Standards and the need to monitor same.
Commodities must conform to all requirements before released for sale in the marketplace.
INSPECTION OF USED TYRES AND CELLULAR PHONES
Inspections of Used Tyres and Cellular Phones are conducted at sale outlets to ensure that products offered for sale are adequately labelling, properly stored and are of quality as specified by the respective national standards.
