The Guyana National Bureau of Standards recertified the Georgetown Medical Centre Laboratory after quality audits revealed that the Laboratory continued to satisfy the requirements of the GYS 170:2009 Standard – General requirements for the operation of a Laboratory. The renewal certificate, which is valid for two years, was presented to the Laboratory Director, Dr. Kawal Dalip on Monday, December 30, 2013.
The GYS 170 Standard specifies requirements for the operation of testing and calibration 30 and is applicable to all laboratories regardless of the number of personnel or the extent of the scope of testing activities.
